Panto Babes ready for starring roles in Leamington
The Spa Centre held auditions for over 100 children all hoping to make it onto the stage to take part as dwarves and dancers. But only 22 talented performers were successful and are already raring to get rehearsing.
Katie Gavin, choreographer for this year’s pantomime, said they were looking for excellent dancers with that extra special something to stand out on stage and that all those who auditioned did extremely well. He said they had an “extremely difficult decision” but is pleased that they made the right one and that the show will be a great success.

Hide AdSarah Boden, director of Imagine Theatre who are consultants on the panto said: “We had just over 100 children audition and they were all very good, unfortunately we could only select 22 of these to be in the show, along with a further 11 children who are reserves.
“All of the children were fantastic and it was very difficult to whittle it down to the 22 we needed to make up our two teams, Apple Crumble and Apple Strudel.”
Mark Thorburn who will be directing the production said that although they all have a long way to go, he is confident they will all put on a brilliant show.
He said: “The children all have a lot of hard work ahead of them and it is really rewarding to watch the them develop their skills during the rehearsals and then to see them in performance.
