Man jailed after '˜vicious assault' on girlfriend in Rugby
Callum McAusland, 28, appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Friday, February 5, and was sentenced to 32 months in prison.
In addition to the 32 months the Judge ordered he serve 10 months as part of a previous suspended sentence.

Hide AdHe pleaded guilty to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage and burglary dwelling.
In the early hours of Saturday, December 26 2015, McAusland forced entry to his ex-girlfriend’s address in Rugby.
He subjected her to a vicious assault, punching her to the face and headbutting her, inflicting serious facial injuries.
He was also charged with an unrelated burglary offence which took place on Earl Street in Rugby.

Hide AdAt 8.30pm on Christmas Day, McAusland forced entry to a property and stole electrical equipment.
Investigating officer DC Gareth Unett said: “I am pleased with the sentence. This was a vicious assault which caused the victim considerable pain and distress, and will impact on her for the rest of her life.
“The victim was extremely brave and managed to raise help from neighbours. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their assistance in securing this conviction.”
