Warwick pupil’s legacy lives on through lifesaving sessions
As we reported earlier this year, the family of Coten End Primary School pupil Evelyn Smith - who died at home last September aged just seven - set up a training programme for parents and teachers, in conjunction with the British Heart Foundation and Waterside Medical Centre.
And Brookhurst Primary School in Leamington received two sessions of the programme, titled Heartstart (pictured right).

Brookhurst’s efforts got a huge boost when one parent’s nomination won the school over £2,000 of life-saving equipment and training in the Hand on Heart charity’s monthly draw. The prize included an AED, basic life support training for eight members of staff and CPR skills training for 30 children.
The Hand on Heart charity will be carrying out the training on Monday.
