Folkard teams up with Godfrey to win silver for Great Britain in Greece
Leamington’s Naomi Folkard won silver in the mixed recurve team event alongside fellow multiple-Olympian Larry Godfrey at the first leg of the European Grand Prix in Marathon, Greece.
The Great Britain duo qualified in sixth place on a WA 70m round, behind Italy, Spain, France, Russia and Ukraine, so they had to fight hard for their medal.
After overcoming Azerbaijan, they beat France 5-3 and Georgia 6-2 to set up a gold medal match against Veronika Marchenko and Heorhiy Ivanytskyy of Ukraine.
