Rugby Lions struggled against high-flying Oundle and a strong cross wind, going down 34-0 on Saturday.
Although they never gave up, Oundle’s constant pressure, coupled with yellow cards for Phil Reed and Nick Walton made it an uphill task.
Keeping their heads up, Lions were far from disgraced, just beaten by a good side.
The defeat leaves Lions eighth in Midlands 1 East and Oundle second, two points behind Syston.
This weekend Lions welcome tenth placed Peterborough to Webb Ellis Road for a 2.15pm kick-off.
